Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. She was born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11 which made the youngest recipient to win an award within Oscar history. Her family moved to New Zealand when she was as a young child, and spent her childhood there. If she answered a request for auditions her name was picked as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish pianist who moves from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. At the time, she was nine and had no performing experience. The actress moved in the United States as a teen. Paquin was the child character in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. The actress also had a leading part for the role of the Queen in Fly Away Home, a movie from that same year. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of the novel written by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and played the polexia Aphrodisa girl in Almost Famous (2000).
