Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football with volunteering for the community. His first family is that his father was the youngest of nine kids who were raised within Eufala by Lucious Selmon. Another reason for his football career was that his father was the only of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the nation by the Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy being the starting player. The team also took home two national championships. Third scholarship he was named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received a degree in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout his time in college. Then he settled in Tampa following college. He playing for the Buccaneers for nine seasons and played three times in the all-pro league. His career in business began. The first job he had was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when, in 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of the 10 outstanding youngsters across the nation. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds in the time he played football at college. In 1975, he was on the team. group. In 1993, he was a part of at the University of South Florida as associate director of athletics. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma awarded it.
